Bonaire takes flight: Delfins Beach Resort welcomes North American Travelers

Bonaire, the idyllic Dutch Caribbean island known for its vibrant marine life, azure waters, and untouched natural beauty, has become an even more alluring destination for North American travelers. Thanks to expanded flight offerings by United Airlines and the inaugural WestJet flight from Toronto, Delfins Beach Resort is set to welcome a wave of enthusiastic travelers seeking sun, adventure, and lasting memories.

United Airlines' expanded service

To meet the growing demand for travel to Bonaire, United Airlines has announced the addition of two extra weekly flights from New York/Newark to Bonaire. The island, already connected to Houston, will now enjoy increased service from the bustling city, with flights operating on Sundays and Wednesdays in addition to the existing Saturday service. Starting January 10, 2024, United Airlines will offer a total of 61 scheduled round-trips between the United States and Bonaire until April 24, 2024.

Miles Mercera, CEO at Tourism Corporation Bonaire, expressed excitement about this development: “It’s a testament to our growing reputation among US travelers, and we are looking forward to welcoming visitors, both old and new, to beautiful Bonaire and everything it offers."

WestJet's inaugural flight

Adding to the excitement, Bonaire celebrated the arrival of its first non-stop WestJet flight from Toronto on December 12th, 2023. The momentous occasion was marked with a warm welcome at the Bonaire Flamingo International Airport, complete with local music, folkloric dancers, and a special ceremony titled #ItsInOurNature.

Miles Mercera emphasized the historic nature of this new connection, highlighting Canada as one of Bonaire's top 10 markets. The direct weekly connection from Toronto to Bonaire, operating every Tuesday, is expected to be a major success, providing Canadian travelers with the opportunity to bask in the island's sun-drenched beauty throughout the winter months. The route will run through April 24th, 2024, offering a seamless travel experience for Canadians seeking an escape to Bonaire's tropical paradise.
