The letter 'B' of the ABC islands of the Caribbean, Bonaire covers 111 square miles and is the sister island of Aruba and Curacao.

Located in the southern part of the Caribbean off the north coast of South America near western Venezuela, Bonaire is nestled just right below the hurricane belt which gives the island almost year round perfect weather. The prime location of the island just under the equator results in more than 12 hours of light a day. With the average yearly temperature resting at 82°F (27.8°C), water 80°F (26.7°C), rainfall 22 inches, and humidity at 76%, this island is one of the most ideal tropical destinations in the whole world.
A Little History
Bonaire was once part of the Dutch Antilles until it became a special municipality within the Netherlands on October 10th, 2010. The island paradise that is Bonaire is famous for its spectacular beaches and even more stunning marine life. Bonaire has made its name on the map as one of the most sought after destinations in the world for diving, snorkeling, kitesurfing, and windsurfing.
Environmentally-focused
For over 20 years, Bonaire has maintained a dedication to protecting and preserving its environment and natural resources and the island's waters has in fact been declared an underwater marine park protected by the local government. The island is the world’s first ever Blue Destination. Bonaire has positioned itself as a progressive island in terms of adapting the sustainable use of ocean resources for growth, well-being, jobs and the ocean ecosystem’s health.
The island has a reputation for being a "sleepy island", in other words, the vibe is very laid back and tranquil. It is considered one of the best-kept secrets of the Caribbean and although the island and its population may be very small, Bonaire offers worlds of magic to see both above and below the water.
